This is not a new concept – we have been experiencing the enjoyment of swimming at one with nature for thousands of years.  We can now give New Zealanders the opportunity to follow this international trend of being more in tune with our natural environment.

Natural Swimming Pools –

These are most similar to traditional pool in design, but most significantly, the filtering technique is organic. Natural Swimming pools use specially chosen aquatic plants and microorganisms to purify the water, together with a small pump  to keep the water circulating and a small filter to remove surplus debris. The process occurs naturally as the roots of aquatic plants absorb decomposing materials, bacteria and pollutants and convert them into plant tissue. The leaves absorb nutrients from the water, restricting the growth of algae. As about half the pools area is devoted to plants it is designed as a stunning feature of your garden as much as a pool.
